Body Composition and Metabolic Analysis

Using top quality Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA), Kathryn can accurately measure your body composition including your muscle mass, fat mass, body water and resting metabolic rate (RMR). RMR is essentially how many calories you burn at rest for your body to maintain its vital functions. This helps determine more accurately how many calories you should eat to reach your goal, whether it is to lose weight, decrease your body fat percentage, gain muscle mass, maintain your weight or eat enough calories to perform at your best potential.

Gastrointestinal Health

Do you suffer from gastrointestinal symptoms such as constipation, diarrhea, bloating, gas, stomach pain, reflux or an urge to go to the bathroom? Working alongside with your doctor, Kathryn can perform a full nutrition evaluation to identify foods that exacerbate your symptoms and determine the best diet modifications to help you get rid of your digestive issues. Kathryn has extensive knowledge and experience with many GI conditions including Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and the Low FODMAP diet, Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), Food intolerances (histamine, sulfites, congenital sucrase isomaltase deficiency, etc.), diverticulitis, GERD, celiac disease and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis).

Weight Loss

Kathryn does not use FAD diets or weight loss supplements and does not provide a quick fix. Kathryn will begin by reviewing your medical and weight history. She can also perform a body composition analysis to help you set realistic weight loss goals. Together, we will explore your food preferences, habits and behaviors and set some smart goals. She will help you balance your diet and acquire sustainable healthy lifestyle habits in order to lose weight in a healthy way and maintain it in the long term. She will help you improve your relationship with food, discover the pleasure of eating any food without guilt or shame, and reconnect with your body to better listen to your hunger and satiety cues. You will eat real foods, compatible with your family, work and social life as well as your food preferences.
